At the University of Alabama, or “BAMA” as many fans like to call it, past coaches sporting nicknames like “Bear” have become legends, and the current Nick Saban is still continuing to lead the team to victory. Backing the team is the incredible group of fans who love nothing more than spending time tailgating before or after a big game.
The center of the tailgating scene is the quad. Dedicated fans can reserve season spots there for all seven home games, but unfortunately, these spots often sell out before the season even starts. Luckily, there are also tailgating spaces available at Presidential Park. These tailgating spots also require reservations. The park is located just 400 yards from Bryant-Denny Stadium so fans can easily walk over when it’s time for the game to start. In addition to these two places, there are countless over parking spaces for fans who simply want to tailgate out of a car or truck.
Although most fans cook their own tailgating fare, many fans like to have their party catered. Bama Dining, the University of Alabama’s food service program, is often willing to cater tailgating events, and they may even have game day packages available for your convenience.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay either before or after the big game, you may want to head to one of the many RV parks that are located in the Tuscaloosa area.
The Avalon RV Park has 65 sites with pull-thru and big rig access. It is located just across the street from a fairly lively bar, and it is close enough to town that you won’t miss out on any action.
The Deerlick Creek COE has 47 sites and a variety of amenities. Located just 25 minutes from Tuscaloosa, this RV park is known for being clean and inexpensive.
