CORTEZ, Colo. — In appreciation of both active military personnel and veterans, Colorado state parks are offering free admission through the month of August. To gain admission, the military member or veteran must show proof of military service and obtain a hang tag from any Colorado state park or CPW office. With the tag should visible on the vehicle and the service member present, all members of the vehicle will be granted free access to the parks.
The hang tag grants the military pass carrier free admission to the park, but does not waive other park related fees or negate the need for licensing and permits that may be necessary for fishing or camping.
“We are very appreciative of Colorado’s military community and encourage them to take advantage of this offer to get out and enjoy the recreational opportunities within state parks,” said CPW Director Bob Broscheid.
